Southern Spice serves fresh, flavorful, healthy and authentic South Indian dishes prepared from the finest ingredients sourced from around the world. Everything is gourmet and made from scratch.
Much of the food is prepared in traditional Andhra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu style. We offer an exotic collection of dosas, iddlies, utthampams, rotis, biriyanis and curries that are typical in South Indian cuisine.
Our lamb sukka varuval - a collection of dark lamb meat chunks and onion slivers topped with a frond of cilantro - comes from Chettinad, famous for its head-exploding mix of masalas (spices) made from ginger, garlic, cardamom, curry leaf, hot chilies, coriander, fenugreek seed, cinnamon, and star anise!
Our restaurant is well known for its authentic tradition and superb quality of food and service. A number of our satisfied clients who keep coming back tell us that we have the best and widest selection of South Indian delicacies in New York.
