Review content:
Kikyo is the best of the traditional Japanese restaurants in Columbus.
I feel that a lot of the new crop of Japanese restaurants in town gear themselves for the ""cool"" factor rather than the style and presentation that makes the food so special.
If you had a Japanese Uncle to make you food this is what you'd get.
If you go please ask for the special appetizer menu- it's ""subtitled"" but with your servers help you can get some fantastic food. Try the Hokke and the buttersauce scallops- just trust me.
Also they just added a new part of the regular menu to include new combos of old favorites.
I haven't worked for them in 2 years but I try to go as often as a twenty-something can.
They did change Sushi chefs this year, but the sushi is still very good and fresh for this part of the world.
Pros: Private rooms-groups, Exotic menu choices, Comfort Food
Cons: slow serv w/ busy
