Review content:
I started going to Big City when they first opened its doors on Waialae. Like Cafe Lauffer (see other post) I used to go there often. My favorite right away was the calamari strips. It is served with a wasabi aioli sauce. Their menu items have a lot traditional fares but with a twist. I've tried their salmon salad, calamari steak, steak, other salads, etc. I don't think there was anything I didn't like although some were better than others. The kids menu is great too. My son loved it. Their desserts are nice too but usually you're too full to have any. Their burgers are good but I don't find them especially special. They are big though. If you eat too many items, be careful for sensory overload. I think it is best to order 1 - 2 items and savor them (appetizer and dinner). We made the mistake of trying each others' foods and you end up with a confused taste palate! It's always a lot of fun with friends and interesting enough to keep your kids occupied too.
