Review content:
I must say I am shocked by the negative reviews here. I began my pediatrician services here on the Cape and would say the first Ped office (Bass River) was just OK. No personal attention, no caring communication. I tried 2 pediatricians before I found Briarpatch Pediatrics. They are exceptional.
PROS
- Dr Norenberg and Dr Bloom are highly skilled diagnosticians. In addition, Dr Norenberg is head of Pediatrics at Cape Cod Hospital.
- Mike, (the PA) and Joy (nurse practitioner) are a wealth of information and really take time to ensure the parent understands any medical issue/ question they may have.
- The nursing staff is pleasant and Bobbi is great!! She is very informative .
- The office is up to date in regard to medical services and medical record recording. They actually use a computer to take Dr notes, show you graphs and statistics about your child on the computer (laptop during your visit) and have the capability to 1) record your preferred pharmacy & pharmacy phone # in laptop and 2) email, call or hand out a prescription immediately.
-The Yarmouth office has a ""sick child"" waiting room and a ""well Child"" waiting room
-I have rarely waited more than 20 minutes to see a Dr. (I have 5 kids and we are there often!)
There are 2 negatives. The office doesn't seem to have the ability to make a day ahead appointment. For instance, your child is sick and you want them to be seen the following day. You can't call ahead, you must contact them the morning of the desired appointment. I find this frustrating since organizing my days is hectic. However, you can make well baby appointments in advance. Also, they are far. I live in Orleans, so it takes me about 35 minutes to reach the Yarmouth Port office.
I am so pleased to have found these pediatricians. I feel extremely confident in their abilities and would tell anyone to interview them for your family!
Pros: Extremely knowledgable and up to date medical information
Cons: A little far, but hey, it's the Cape...
