We love BriarPatch! 6/22/2010

Dr. Norenberg has been our pediatrician since we moved here nearly two years ago. Last week we were in for our son's playground accident. This week we're going in for his Pink Eye! We've always been met with professional, courteous, and caring service and highly recommend this practice. For what it's worth, we moved here from Washington, DC where we had access to very high quality pediatric care, so our standards are high. Pros: prompt attention, professional staff more

Great Pediatrician 3/29/2010

I hadn't decided on a pediatrician until after my son was born. While at the hospital I asked the nurses for some recommendations; one of them told me about Briarpatch. My husband and I googled them and found these reviews. After reading the mostly negative reviews we still decided to give them a chance, knowing that we could change doctors if we found the reviews to be true. Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Doctors! more

Top Notch Ped 9/4/2009

I must say I am shocked by the negative reviews here. I began my pediatrician services here on the Cape and would say the first Ped office (Bass River) was just OK. No personal attention, no caring communication. I tried 2 pediatricians before I found Briarpatch Pediatrics. They are exceptional. PROS - Dr Norenberg and Dr Bloom are highly skilled diagnosticians. In addition, Dr Norenberg is head of Pediatrics at Cape Cod Hospital. - Mike, (the PA) and Joy (nurse practitioner) are a wealth of information and really take time to ensure the parent understands any medical issue/ question they may have. - The nursing staff is pleasant and Bobbi is great!! She is very informative . - The office is up to date in regard to medical services and medical record recording. They actually use a computer to take Dr notes, show you graphs and statistics about your child on the computer (laptop during your visit) and have the capability to 1) record your preferred pharmacy & pharmacy phone # in laptop and 2) email, call or hand out a prescription immediately. -The Yarmouth office has a ""sick child"" waiting room and a ""well Child"" waiting room -I have rarely waited more than 20 minutes to see a Dr. (I have 5 kids and we are there often!) There are 2 negatives. The office doesn't seem to have the ability to make a day ahead appointment. For instance, your child is sick and you want them to be seen the following day. You can't call ahead, you must contact them the morning of the desired appointment. I find this frustrating since organizing my days is hectic. However, you can make well baby appointments in advance. Also, they are far. I live in Orleans, so it takes me about 35 minutes to reach the Yarmouth Port office. I am so pleased to have found these pediatricians. I feel extremely confident in their abilities and would tell anyone to interview them for your family! Pros: Extremely knowledgable and up to date medical information Cons: A little far, but hey, it's the Cape... more

Not Happy 6/27/2008

1. hours do not accommodate school day at all offices. Pros: Dr. Bloom is an excellent diagnostician Cons: He is overworked, whole staff emphasizes and radiates a ""we're in control here"" attitude. more

Wonderfully Professional Atmosphere 6/4/2008

Briarpatch Pediatrics has been my family of 6's PCP for years now and they've suited the family wonderfully. The expertise they have offered at a time helped my son gain control of an eating irregularity so that he could actually consume food without choking and/or gagging. He began to thrive immediately. Pros: Quick response visit time, polite staff and Top notch Doc's and Record. Cons: parking more

Not happy 4/25/2008

I think Dr Bloom himself is wonderful. We had him as my 13 year old daughters pediatrician yeasr ago. My youngest we put in his office when born because we liked Dr Bloom so much. BUT the nurse gave my son at 4 months old, 2 DTaP shots in the same visit. Not an acceptable mistake.Needless to say we are no longer there. Pros: Dr Bloom is wonderful if you get your child to see him Cons: Did not find the staff other than Dr Bloom to be professional more
