Businiess name:  Mrs White's Golden Rule Cafe
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
Mrs. White's serves up excellent home-cooked food such as pork chops, meatloaf and fried chicken in a setting that probably hasn't changed since it opened in 1964. Don't expect fancy service... servers take your order and bring your food, period. However, I'd hate to be interrupted by an over-talkative waiter while I have my mouth full of sweet-potato pie. Also, don't sit around waiting for a menu. What there is is written on the wall, or if you're nearsighted or a little slow, your waitress can give you the run down. Bring cash, too, as Mrs. White doesn't accept anything else. Try the pork chops, cabbage, and black-eyed peas, and you'll know why so many Southern boys love thier mamas. Pros: Great food, Celebrity sightings, Free downtown parking Cons: Indifferent service, Crowded at peak times, Cash only
