Review content:
I can't speak to the quality of the delivery service, and, like a lot of Chinese places, it's more of a take-out place than a place where you'd want to sit and eat, but I live in the neighborhood, and it's great to have a place like that handy. The lunch specials are okay, but in recent years I've discovered that ordering soup from Chinese restaurants is light, satisfying, and economical enough to do several times, a week,
In my experience, the hot and sour soup and the wonton soup at the New Century stand up against some really excellent local chinese restaurants that are much better reviewed in here. I even prefer the wonton soup to the soup at Foliage, where my friends and I have been eating for years, though the soup at Foliage is not to be denied. It has a fine fragrant broth, but New Century has the tastier wontons.
I usually call ahead, because I don't like to wait, but one time at New Century I actually had to wait while they made a fresh batch of hot and sour soup for me, and MY GOD that soup was amazing!
