Review content:
I was more than surprised at our recent visit to September's. We made the mistake of going during the first few weeks of opening. I have done this with more than one restaurant and should have learned my lesson. I suppose things aren't done quite right. Anyway, my husband and our 2 kids went Saturday night and they were talking about the new things on the menu for the fall. This was a new one for us. We (and our friends) frequent Cheddar's and the menu is always the same. So we had to spend some time studying. Our waiter was very patient and explained the new stuff to us - they had food that H'ville does not normally have - scallops - yum - one of my favorites as well as short ribs- and lamb. Not a favorite but one of our friends love it so I will have to tell him. Dinner was fab - our kids were excited we took them - they always wanted to dine out at a classy restaurant and the food they had was eaten completely. Septembers did not have a printed kids menu but the waiter knew what items were available for kids - good selection -it took care of my picky ones. Anyway - we were taken care of and felt special and the food was great - along with the service - much improved over the opening visit. I think we have found our spot in H'ville. Also they had a jazz group on the patio with the firepit - if we had not had the kids we would have stayed - they sounded really good. Pros: valet, fire pit, Cons: no crayons
