Martha is amazing...she knows pianos incredibly well, is very helpful and a pleasure to work with. She does piano restorations & repair, appraisals and also sells pianos that she restores. I was looking to buy a piano from Craigslist as a gift, and I know nothing about music. She did an onsite appraisal of one of them, and during that effort, she also showed me what to look for when buying a used piano. She was very thorough and inspected every last component, and has a detailed document she provides that outlines not just the work needed but how much it would cost.
That particular piano needed too much work, but she helped me find a different one, and even provided a little assistance over the phone to avoid me having to keep paying her for multiple onsite appraisals...that sort of honesty and ethic is rare in business, and I highly respect her for that.
If I had more money, I'd definitely buy one of the pianos that she's already restored. Just looking at them on her website, you can see the care and detail she puts into selecting high-quality pianos to restore, and into the restoration itself. If you are looking for a piano or need one repaired or restored, I'd highly recommend Martha and Immortal Pianos!
