Review content:
I signed a contract in May 2011 with SCH Painters to paint my residence. A deposit (>$2000) was provided as required per the estimate. I was quoted a start date of 4-6 weeks. As of 10 Oct 2011, the home has not been painted nor any work done to this end. I have inquired (email, voice mail) on at least eight occasions when this work would begin and my messages have been mostly ignored. I have been provided with four separate misleading/false start dates by Mr. Hurd or his associate (Kim). The latest estimate from Mr. Hurd was received the week of 03 Oct 2011 when he informed me that he would begin no later than 08-09 October 2011. As of 17 Oct, the work has not been initiated. A certified letter was also sent to their business address formally affirming my request for a refund (no response or refun received). Their lack of responsiveness is unprofessional and poor business etiquette.
The state attorney general was contacted and they too were unable to solicit a response from Mr. Hurd. Likewise, a call from my attorney was never returned. I eventually contacted the police department and they called SCH Painters to investigate the complaint and the money refunded.
