My wife and I have a beautiful home, but long ago became tired of the standard white kitchen counter tiles, standard white floor tiles, and standard plain concrete deck around our in-ground pool. After talking with Stonescape Design people at a home show, we had them install custom-color countertops in our kitchen (which are as attractive as marble, but non-staining). The material is applied right over the old white tiles. It was a little messy for a short while, and we couldn't use the kitchen for a few days, but the result was incredible. Workers were efficient, punctual, and courteous. We liked it so much, and had so many compliments (even from strangers -- electricians, etc.), we had Stonescape back several months later to put a new custom flagstone look on the pool deck (no more ugly stock pink concrete). Recently, we had them replace standard tile in our family room, kitchen, and downstairs bath with an elegant, custom-color floor that duplicates the large, diagonal-set stone floors found in very high-end houses. They also totally re-did the fireplace, turning it from a stock, plain, white feature into a truly beautiful center of the family room, with a polished, custom-color stone and marble look that already has drawn compliments from everyone who's seen it. Putting in new flooring, re-doing kitchen counters, re-doing the pool deck and similar jobs always involve some inconvenience, and can get pretty messy -- but the mess is temporary, and the result -- at least in our case -- has been incredible. Our cul-de-sac has nice houses, but we're convinced that we now have the classiest kitchen, family room, and pool deck in the area. Now we're starting to look at upstairs bathrooms and other areas that we might want re-done. We're very, very satisfied.
