Review content:
I purchased glasses and lenses about two weeks ago at metro eye. While my initial service was acceptable, and they gave me a good discount on my frames the glasses themselves were of poor quality and broke at both of the stems' hinges four days after I received the finished pair. I had awoken that morning to find that they had fallen on the floor and was surprised to find three parts, not one.
No big deal. I went to a local eye glass shop in the area (I was on spring break) and they replaced the faulty hinges with some spare stems at no extra charge.
However, upon taking them back at my return Metro Eye replaced them with another set of frames while they searched for the same pair. They only decided to look for another pair after I complained about not being able to see. I have an astigmatism and bifocal lenses and have to have glasses that are lined up perfectly so I can actually see. Upon voicing my concern that the new frames they gave me were ""unfit for my vision"" one of the helpers told me, verbatim, to ""put them down on my nose, as that was the trendy thing to do."" However, for the time I was hoping they'd find a new pair.
I received a call two days later saying that they had not been able to locate the same frames and that I, myself, could locate another pair online. When I stated that I did not have enough time to do so with a full schedule (not to mention my disgust at such tacky customer service) they said to stop by to work something out.
On Saturday I received another call saying that they had a solution to my problem, giddy I went on Monday to find out that they had just replaced my stems with other stems and that were going to charge me 20 dollars to fix them.
When I debated the price the manager of the store came out and YELLED that while that I did not have to pay the 20 dollars ""she had bent over backwards to help me and that she was sorry but glasses just didn't break like that, and she had been nice enough to give a discount.""
Not only was I swindled into buying faulty glasses, they tried to get me to search for a new pair (after trying to get me to buy another pair BTW), and tried to get me to pay more to fix glasses that I did not break. Poor bussiness integrity.
Pros: stylish if you have the dough
Cons: poor service, overpriced
