Review content:
Be very wary of the generic, ultra-positive reviews on any review site for this company. I've caught them using the same titles and same descriptions for different 'customers'. This is done to offset the legitimate complaints that their REAL customers have! Be honest- how many companies can you truly say you've gone out of your way to write a POSITIVE review about in the last year? Trust no one, including me - do your own research before giving them your money. There is a reason why they have such an awful BBB rating (they are not BBB accredited) and there are so many bad reviews here and elsewhere. We hired East-West for our cross-country move in August 2010. They were, of course, very nice and professional- until they had our money. Then they tried sneaking in extra fees, which we had to fight off. Then they arrived almost 2 weeks late (so we slept on the floor with no furniture that whole time). Then when the truck finally did arrive, we learned that they had destroyed all of our things (I don't mean a little wear and tear, little bumps and dings- I mean our desk was literally pulverized, our boxspring broken in half, mattress ripped up, sofa has huge gashes, a dozen boxes were ripped open, exploded, punctured, exercise equipment smashed and destroyed- I could go on). The driver was arrogant enough to actually try to rush us on signing off on paperwork as we tried to survey the extent of the damage. Absolutely terrible. This was clear, willful negligence and they refuse to take proper action (they have offered us around $100 to make up for obliterating all of our possessions- thanks, but no thanks), so we will be suing them in small claims court. We have given them until the end of the month to respond. All we want is our money back, but if we sue them, we'll be seeking the cost of replacing all of our damaged items- an amount far more than the move cost. It's their call. If you don't believe me, friend me on Facebook and look at my photo album that shows all the damage. My case is real and there are MANY others out there like me. I have nothing to hide, and I want to expose this company for the scam artists they are! Do your homework, people - learn from our mistakes. Research the best moving companies and don't just go with the lowest price. Would you rather pay more now, or pay less and end up with a truck full of destroyed items later?
