Review content:
After reading consumer reviews on sites like this and seeing that New York Magazine had recommended Lore Decorators as ""Best Bargain Upholsterer"" we thought we'd give them a try. We gave them a 3rd generation wing back chair to reupholster.
A ""sub-par attempt"" the first time out of the gate, we requested that they ""make good"". Uneven and irregular shaping of the chairs scalloped back, poor stitch-work, seat cushioning and reversal of the fabric, to name a few.
It took 2 weeks to get the owner to come and take a look at the chair. When he finally arrived, he begrudgingly agreed that the quality of their work was questionable and that they would take the chair back and ""make good"". 2 months later, they were waiting on fabric, which lead me to believe they tried to fix it without replacing the fabric and failed.
3 1/2 months and they finally delivered the chair. The work was much improved. The finishing is much closer to what we originally expected. We still had some issue with the seat cushioning and the shape of the top of the chair (things we had brought to their attention more then once) but had they delivered this chair to us originally we would have lived with it.
The final product was acceptable for the price but not worth the journey.
