I would give them a zero if I could. We sent our 3 year old chocolate lab here (he is our child) for 12 days. There were 9 dogs there (more than what her website boasts). We had asked that the owners take our dog's collar off each night before bed, left him with his food and treats, and we were off, under the impression he'd get taken care of well.
There was a 6 month old golden lab puppy there who he ""bonded"" with, according to the family. When we picked him up and were driving home, we noticed he had a sore on his neck that anyone who got near his collar would've noticed. We bathed him and put ointment on it, then promptly called the owners. They stated that the lab puppy had been pulling at our dog's neck and wrestling the entire time we were gone but they didn't notice any fighting.
My dog's hair was missing in a patch the size of the palm of my hand and the skin was raw. 2 days later we made an appointment to have a vet look at it. We called the owners before the appointment and they refused to pay the vet bill because they were not liable. My husband took him to the vet and the wound was infected; he had to have steroid injections and antibiotics for the next week. We called the owners back again and the finally agreed to pay $80 of the $130 bill.
I am very disappointed in this business. We were told we would get email updates with pictures, which did not happen. Our dog treat container and bone was not returned to us. While they were ""watching"" my dog they had a garage sale and more dogs than they could obviously handle. I will NEVER ever take my dog back there. If my child had come home from daycare like that, I'd be just as upset.
