Businiess name:  Nicor Gas

Review content:
My daughter just had a baby and with the doctor bills and everything else they missed the payment to Nicor she called and asked to be put on a payment plan so she could pay them off over time as she did not have over 1000.00 for the past two months bill (which is crazy in itself) Well they took her first payment of 250.00 and shut her off the following week I called them and asked them how they could shut off the gas with a baby in the house and they said they can after the 1st of April Since the snow was still flying in April this seems pretty harsh. I went and paid the full amount at one of their agents by check. And then called and asked when they would turn the gas on and they advised two weeks because they had to wait 10 days for teh check to clear the bank Everyone knows in this century with computers and high tech everything it does not take 10 days to know a check is good or not. So I told them if my bank shows the money is gone the next day then it is in there account and I wanted it turned on at which point they advised that they would have a supervisor call me back I waited 3 hours for the call and called back at which point I was told it would take 3 DAYS before a supervisor would call me At this point I lost a little of my pleasantness and advised I have never heard of such a thing 3 DAYS for a call back. They then proceeded to transfer me to a supervisor who advised me they did not care if there was a baby in the house and that I could place a stop payment on the check and pay in cash then they would not have to wait until the check cleared I said if I go and do that when will the gas get turned on they said you will have to make an appt and it will be a week to two weeks I went balistic and they hung up on me. Believe me if there was another game in town I would switch. At this time I am writing all the government officials I can think of. I know it is a long shot anyone will do anything but at least I am calming down a bit... Cons: Customer Service forget about it
