Review content:
We bought a pre-owned 28 thousand miles Passat station wagon from the DeanTeam 31. December 2007. Right from the beginning this car caused us a real headache up to these days in December 2009. When we paid for the new car in cash and drove out from their property, the service light of the Passat came on just after a few miles of driving. We drove back and told them about the service light. They kept it and gave as a car from their lot for a week while they fixed the problem. After a week we came in and got back the car. We were told that the problem was fixed. We were not charged at this point, as it was just bought from them. We drove out and after 15 miles the same problem occured again, the service light was on again. We drove back to the Dean Team in Kirkwood and complained that we can not go on with such a bad car. The service people kept the car and gave as a Jetta from their lot for almost 3 weeks!!!, while our car was in their garage for getting fixed again. Three weeks later we came in for the third time and picked-up our paid Passat. The total amount had been over $4000 but we were not charged for anything yet. In September 2009 we had a service light problem occuring in Chesterfield. As the Dean Team was not so far away from Chesterfield, we decided to make it to the Dean Team for getting it checked. And now the rip-off with them really starts. When you come to the service desk, these guys tell you right at the beginning that a diagnose check will cost you $110. But to lower your shock, they tell you if you get it repaired they will not charge you for the test!!! Bla bla bla! Our car was in for just 2 hours and 30 minutes! Guess what? We were told by a rude guy (service desk) that because the service for the car was not done by them before, this would be now the problem. And now the details of the bill, they supposedly replaced the oxygen sensor, the ignition coil, all 4 spark plugs, the air filter and a wheel trim which we did not even asked for. The final bill came to $829,96. That was almost blowing us away from reality. on the statement was a labor fee of $407 Dollars marked on the bill. Their actual labor cost per hour is $110. Later we reealised that these guys really ripped us off with everything possible. So on labor we were definately ripped of with a total of $122. And we don't even know if they really changed the oxygen sensor for another $205. Anyway, just 25 days later the service light came on again. We heard from friends that you get a free diagnose check from the guys at AutoZone. We asked them for checking it and we got a prompt free service! Congratulation to the AutoZone guys!!! They diagnosed that the problem is still related to the oxygen sensor. We told them that the Dean Team has replaced it just a month ago. With our report sheet from AutoParts we went to the Dean Team once again ( stupid as we are) for getting this problem checked. We came in and automatically you hear this: ""Oh, we diagnose your car which will be $110. However, if we fix your car, we don't charge you for the test!"" Bla bla bla!!! We thought we would not get charged as the problem was related to the oxygen sensor. Guess what happened? This time supposedly a tube was broken and needed to be replaced. We paid another $179,28. 2 days later the service light was on again! We asked the AutoZone guys in Eureka for help again. According to their diagnose, the problem is still the oxygen sensor. We decided we will never ever step one foot into the property of the Dean Team, 10205 Manchester Road, Kirkwood ever again. These people are very dishonest and the service people are rude and trained to rip off every customer the hard way. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!
Pros: Nothing really good there to be honest
Cons: Rip-off service, service peop find ways to empty your wallet
