Review content:
I finally ventured over to this place for my sushi date last night! I heard lots of rave reviews from friends that are locals about this place being super good and fresh. The ambiance inside was definitely lacking and was extremely basic and boring for a sushi restaurant. However I'm not eating the restaurant!\r
We started our meal off with an order of their rock shrimp. They arrived to the table in a nice presentation, were lightly battered in a tempura, and were tossed in spicy mayo with a nice kick. Definitely one of the best I've had.\r
I opted for their "piano" roll for dinner. My only gripe is that since my date & I both ordered sushi, they put both of our rolls on ONE plate assuming that you want to share. Okay? And how am I supposed to move my rolls without forks, on my own plate to eat? Not everyone is a super expert with chopsticks so it was kind of a mess! The roll was very good, fresh bay scallops tossed in spicy sauce and cascading over the top of my california roll. My date really enjoyed his food too.\r
The service here was super nice, concerned, and attentive. I was very impressed by Aaron I believe his name was. Super sweet, nice guy so definitely ask for him if you go.\r
Overall it was a really nice enjoyable first experience. The food is very standard basic sushi though. So if you are looking for good basic sushi with no extra frills, and very bare basic yet intimate ambiance this is the place.
