Review content:
I have been to several bridal salons and Weddings by Debbie was by far and away the worst of the ones I visited. I had someone tell me they got their dress at WBD so I expected a good experience. From the very beginning, everyone I interacted with at WBD was impersonal and aggressive. Before you even see a consultant, they make you sign a form that says that after a certain number of visits you will pay a fee for additional appointments. This is the only place I've ever heard of this. The consultant I was assigned to was 15 minutes late to come get me from the waiting room for my appointment. The consultant INSISTED on coming into the dressing room with me. Again, this is the ONLY place this happened. I even asked her if it would be ok if my mom came in to help me, which is what we did at every other salon, but she said they were not allowed to leave us alone to put the dresses on without their help. (The dresses are in pretty poor shape so their policy doesn't actually help keep their dresses in good condition.) The dressing room was the size of a small closet, the consultant never stopped talking, sometimes leaving me standing in my bra and underwear in front of her listening to her ridiculous stories, she never seemed concerned that I was uncomfortable and she smelled like she had just smoked a pack of cigarettes (which I assume is why she was late to our appointment). She was very aggressive about buying a dress soon because my wedding was 6 months away and I might not get one in time (other salons told me I had plenty of time) and everytime I tried to look in the mirror, I had to peek around other brides because it was so crowded. The whole store just feels chaotic and crowded. Even though some of their dresses are expensive (and they do have a wide range), the experience is so shabby that everything feels cheap. I bought my dress someplace else and LOVED the dress, the place and the people...especially after this awful afternoon I spent at Weddings by Debbie.
