Review content:
I rarely ever get my hair cut because it always seems to be so expensive and every hair cut I get is a disaster. Toni and Guy was, sadly, no different. I'd heard a lot of good things about Ramses and tried to get an appointment with him, but he wasn't in so I had to settle for someone else. Everyone in the place seemed really... hip, for lack of a better word. The lady who cut my hair (I won't say her name, I don't want to bash her personally), did NOT fit in with the rest of the people who worked there. She was older, probably nearly 40 or so. She had her hair pulled back in a braid. I knew I was in trouble, but I had already committed and didn't want to be rude and leave based on her looks.
The only good thing I can say about her is she gives a mean shampoo. She took over five minutes, and I was in heaven. It was lovely.
I told her what I wanted, and what I didn't want. She didn't listen to me AT ALL. She told me what I wanted wasn't popular right now. Um... I do not care! It's hard for me to see what she's doing because I am blind as a bat and wear glasses, so I didn't see the result until the very end. It took everything I had not to cry in front of her. I never cry over a hair cut because it's just hair and grows back, but I was distraught.
She walked me up front and spent over five minutes trying to push products on me, then lingered around to make sure I was going to give her a tip. My disaster of a hair cut set me back $75.
I don't know what to do. I'm not going back to ask her to fix it for fear she'll butcher it even more, however, I do want something to be done. I just can't afford another $75 hair cut for a while. :(
Long story short, I went in expecting a hip, trendy cut and came out with a hair cut circa 1994. If I had wanted ""The Rachel"" I would have went to Regis at the other end of the mall and paid $25, thanks.
Pros: Friendly receptionist
Cons: Very pricy for end result, hair dressers don't listen
