We had decided to switch from our traditional landline-based (Broadview/ADT) system to Advanced Security Engineering (ASE)'s Alarm.com-based system for several reasons -
1) We wanted to "cut the cord" - with the switch to ASE/Alarm.com (wherein alarm events are sent over GSM/Cellular from the alarm panel directly to the monitoring station), we could move away from an expensive and useless landline to cell phones and Voice-over-IP home phones permanently! With the new system, we no longer have to fear that our landline might be cut (and the alarm system effectively disabled) before a breakin!
2) We wanted to have greater control over the alarm system and wanted the ability to control it and view its status remotely and interactively. ASE/Alarm.com enabled that quite well with the Alarm.com website where we could login and see the complete status of the system, see a historical listing of all alarm events and even arm/disarm it remotely! We could set custom access codes too! There's even an Alarm.com app for the iPhone/iPad on the App Store which is very handy to do all these operations remotely (over 3G or WiFi) with ease!
Now, the entire switch-over experience and service - from the initial walkthrough/estimate (we needed an additional motion sensor and a few new window sensors) to the actual installation - were outstanding! Gene Jordan and Grant Jordan from Advanced Security Engineering were very professional, thorough and efficient.
Subsequent interaction (for billing, monitoring, maintenance) have all been seamless. ASE has been prompt, courteous and thorough in interactions over the phone and email.
We'd very much recommend anyone looking for a modern, interactive and reliable alarm system and service to go with Advanced Security Engineering's Alarm.com-based solution!
