My wife and I went there last Thursday to celebrate my new job. I had purchased a Groupon coupon for the place a while ago after hearing good things about it so we decided to go there. A little anecdote upfront: I had called for a reservation and left a message with my name and number. A few hours later I was called back to confirm the reservation. The girl on the phone asked me for my name and my number. When I pointed out that she had just called me so she should have my number she took a while to grasp that fact, instead explaining to me why she needed my number... but I thought it was more funny than anything else. First impression: the hostess and waitress were nice, when we asked to have the A/C that was blowing right onto our table turned down a little they did that right away. The decor is so-so. Someone tried to make it look nice but there are many loose ends that destroy the initial good intention (e.g. a projector that displayed the Windows screen in the back for hours, the DJ booth with tons of cables hanging out). The other guests were a mixed bag from stylish hipsters to fat ladies in T-shirts. Me wife is following a specific diet and had selected two dishes from the menu on the website. Both dishes were not on the menu when we got there and weren't available. She then ordered tuna cakes and a large salad. Both were OK. The waitress recommended a ""all you can eat"" meat special and I went for that. I ordered a clam chowder as a starter but I received a tomato soup with only ""we're out of clam chowder"" as an explanation. I'm not a difficult person so I ate the tomato soup instead but I think they should ask to customer first and not decide for him... I had ordered a lamb and mango skewer and a steak with pepper sauce to start out. The lamb was burnt, no mango in sight, the steak had no sauce whatsoever and the truffle fries were old. Cole slaw with cilantro was OK. I ate the cole slaw and returned the rest. Oh, they never asked how I wanted the steak cooked and I received it well done (I like it medium). I got another skewer, this time with mango. It was burnt again. I got another serving of truffle fries and they were old again. By that time my wife had finished her dinner. I had complained to the waitress and she obviously told the manager because he came to our table, apologized and offered a 20% discount. We liked the gesture and accepted. I ordered my next course but by then it was about 10:30pm and they started to remove the tables around us and to turn up the music to a level where we couldn't talk anymore. We were left sitting on an empty dance floor with disco strobe lights. Terrible feeling... We then just had enough. We left our half-full bottle of wine on the table and got up to get the check at the entrance. When we got the check the Groupon coupon (that I had given to the same waitress before ordering) was not taken into account. We complained and then the waitress just told us that it was OK and we didn't have to pay anything beyond the $50 coupon. The check was only $43 with the 20% discount we got from the manager, though... The only highlight was that the valet service didn't charge us the $10 that were due but only wanted a voluntary tip. I'm sure that went into his own pocket... Pros: They can make salads, the service was OK Cons: Everything else
