What the gas flap on my VW beetle stopped responding to the release button, the filling station where I was offered to fix it. When I asked for an estimate, they said they would have to figure out what was wrong first and they had no idea. I called Precision Motor Car (a close-in shop that works only on VW and Audi) and they knew exactly what was wrong and gave me an estimate on the spot. I was thrilled! Unfortunately, the day of my scheduled service, they called me back and said the parts were more expensive than anticipated (one part more than triple what they had estimated!). They had estimated $120 for labor, $35 for the motor, $16 cable, $29 switch if needed. It ended up being $120 labor, 45.40 for the motor, $48 for the cable!! (and the switch wasn't needed, fortunately). Darrel seemed truly apologetic about the price increase on the parts. On the upside, they got my car back the same day and there were no surprises. I will try them again. Pros: Knowledgeable, on time Cons: inaccurate estimate of parts cost (based on only one experience); did not save part to show me
