Scallops were delightful, served with a nice salad of crisp fried leek slivers. The Vegetable Gateau was terrible, however. Undercooked eggplant and red peppers made for an astringent, not very flavorful side dish. And the cheese plate was disappointing, 4 hunks of soft, commercially produced cheeses, all mild and bland enough not to frighten nor excite. A bright side was the wine list, with selections from France that you typically do not see in SLO, where local wine predominates. We selected a decent 1er cru white burgundy, (can't go wrong with the 2002's!) a decent bargain at $37, especially since you can't find such a wine anywhere else around here. Transcendent? No, but a nice find, steely and mineral and true bourgogne. Just made us wish for a plate of oysters, or a big bowl of Moules. If you go, try the Venison; it looked great! Pros: Friendly Service, Wine List, Ambience Cons: Limited Veg Menu, Uninspiring dishes, Food details
