My experience at Blue Velvet was an exceptional one. The decor of the salon is a cool, ""industrial meets retro"" design, but not so trendy that the ""Average Jane"" customer will feel intimidated. My stylist consulted with me at length about a new hairstyle that would not only suit my face, but suit my lifestyle as well. But what I appreciated most was ""less is more"" attitude of my stylist, cutting my hair in small increments, stopping to see if I was happy with the result yet -- as she said, ""We can always cut off more later -- let's check to see how this looks first."" Having fallen victim to ""hack jobs"" in the past, this new approach was refreshing and quite a relief! I will definitely be returning to Blue Velvet and can highly recommend it to anyone.
