Review content:
After writing to the corporate office of 5 Napkin, a nice representative contacted me and made arrangements for complimentary dinner for two. Apparently the entire kitchen staff was replaced due to many complaints. We ordered appetizers: Vegetable Roll and Sushi Platter - both were good. For entrees we ordered Steak Frites and Grilled Thai Marinated Salmon - both were adequate. The bearnaise was a bit weak and somewhat tasteless. For dessert we ordered a Cookies N' Cream shake (not very thick, foamy) and some sort of double fudge brownie concoction that was good. I give 5 NB credit for following up on a customer complaint but overall for the price and value I can only give 5NB a fair rating. For a restaurant chain that received accolades in New York from Zagat, Time Out NY, and New York Post, etc., it sure hasn't lived up to it down in South Beach. For burgers which are 5NB's signature entrées, it is way down the list of places for burgers on SoBe. Try 8oz Burger Bar and Burger & Beer Joint for better burgers and better prices.
