The Malden YMCA is new, with new exercise equipment, pools, a basketball court, etc. There is limited parking across the street. There are not TV's for each machine, only a few scattered that the teenagers inevitably change when you are watching something. There is also a rule against children in the cardio/fitness area, but you'll see them there causing trouble and getting on machines. There are not enough machines for everyone during peak hours. Be prepared to wait for an elliptical, bike, or treadmill from 4:30 - 8pm on weeknights. The classes that they claim are great are offered at ridiculous times - what working person can make a 9am or 5pm class?! I would pass - for the cost ($52 for an adult per month plus joining fee) you can do better elsewhere. Pros: Swimming pool, basketball court Cons: Children getting in the way, not enough machines, not enough supervision, classes don't fit working people's hours
