Review content:
I am sad to report that I will never return to Red Koi. \r \r When my husband and I moved to Miami two years ago, we discovered this restaurant. At first, we went there at least 2-3 times a month because we were new to the area and didn't know what else was out there. The food was, and still is, excellent. The curries are spicy and flavorful, the appetizers are tasty and all the food is fresh and well prepared. \r \r The service has generally been very good. Several of the wait staff recognize us when we come in and give superior service. Every once in a while the service has been so-so but the food is always wonderful. \r \r All my satisfaction with Red Koi ended last week. I called to order dinner for pick-up, which we have also done many times before. I am a vegetarian, so I ordered the Tofu Tod appetizer and Red Curry with tofu. The woman taking my order brusquely informed me that they had no tofu available. She offered no explanation or apology. That pretty much ended my interest in ordering dinner from Red Koi that night. \r \r As I thought about it later, I became upset that this restaurant that my husband and I had been to so many times before could be completely OUT OF TOFU and have an employee who cared so little that a customer was disappointed. There is a grocery store a block away that sells tofu for heavens sake! If they didn't get a shipment, there must have been a way to get an emergency supply! I wrote an email to Red Koi explaining my concern and asked for a response because I wanted to believe they were concerned that they had to disappoint their customers. I have never heard back.\r \r So, I have decided I cannot recommend this restaurant or ever go back to it again.
