Fourteen years ago, I walked into a Newton Center salon asking about a hair cut for my daughter who was just turning two. Much to my surprise, Fia greeted me and said that she would be delighted to cut my daughter' hair -- she did and it was beautiful -- not just the hair cut but the gesture. Fia would not accept any money -- just a hug and a smile. Many years later, I was intrigued to see that Fia had opened her own salon near my home and I have been Fia's client ever since. Fia is a true artist, amazing with hair but also an interesting combination of professional, kind and gentle. Her staff is professional, talented and approachable -- there's no haughty attitude in her salon. It is a jewel in the middle of Newton Center.
