Review content:
I moved to the Upper East Side this Sept from Soho and I was looking for a new fitness routine. When ?googling?, Erika Bloom constantly came up in the nearby results for my neighborhood. Although her website resonated with me as my type of style- I just assumed it was another over rated New York spot- I decided to reach out as none of the other results appealed to me.
I started Pilates and Yoga 3 times a week in October- never trying either before. All of the classes offered at the studio are individual. You can select to work with the same person every time- or I chose to try someone new every time. As someone who was never really interested in fitness I have to find ways for me to stay excited, or engaged and being with a different person every time allows me to not anticipate the same moves, and routine before even going. Each person is so different but shares the common thread of the way Erika taught them to bring out their nurturing, warm selves when training you. Each session focuses on you- your strengths, weaknesses, your injuries, shortcomings and how you can improve to be a better you. The instructors are very complimentary and inspiring without being anything less than genuine. I really enjoy it because with my busy schedule its 1 hour that I focus on me. Not e-mails, or errands ? my body and my goals for myself.
The staff is so warm, making appointments via e-mail and always trying to accommodate my busy schedule the best they can. They added a new boutique with skincare products, candles and fitness clothes as well since I?ve been there. The training doesn?t just stop at the workout- I feel comfortable to ask questions on how to live and eat a more holistic, balanced lifestyle and everyone is very knoweledable, unpretentious and loves to share their info. I really feel different inside; I look at my body in a different way. You shouldn?t come here for a fad way to work out, or a quick fix, it is def. a life changing spirituality that all New Yorkers can def. benefit from.
I highly recommend?
