Long story short. The owners of this school also own the Montessori School of Manhattan Beach (2 campuses). 1. The owners were informed in 2010 that the property they lease from the city of RPV wasn't going to be renewed in 2011. They chose not to do anything or inform any of the parents until April 2011. The parents fought hard with the city to try to get the lease renewed, but the owners pulled out and decided to close the school. 2. The owners then gave the parents hope that the school will still be open in the summer (July and August) so the parents will have some time to look for a school that starts in the fall. Again, the owners decided not to offer summer school and left all the families scrambling to find a new school in a short amount of time. 3. In May, the owners decided to keep the school open for one extra week since summer school was cancelled, so the school would stay open until 6/30/11. 4. Guess what? The owners told all the parents on Monday, 6/20 that this is the last week of school, no childcare for all the families next week like they promised last month. Go sink or swim! There are numerous of us very disappointed parents who are now trying to take time off next week so we can stay home with our children. Do any of you readers think this is responsible behavior as childcare operators? Do you trust your children in the hands of people with this type of moral values? What a very sad way to end our experience here at Montessori School of RPV and Manhattan Beach. Pros: Caring Teachers, Spanish, Tennis, Gymnastics All Included
