Review content:
Out of sheer lack of options, I have visited Sandy's many a time for my daughters' dance supplies. I agree with the previous review, that they can be very rude and disrespectful. On one occasion, my younger child was in need of ballet AND jazz shoes for dance. She is very sensitive to how things feel on her feet and was having a tough time choosing which felt best. I witnessed staff rolling their eyes at each other and muttering remarks under their breath in regards to my child, which was VERY hurtful to me. She was in no way intentionally trying to be difficult for their staff. On more than one occasion, I've felt as if I'm inconveniencing their staff by my presence in their store... and it IS retail for goodness sake. Both of my daughters are very committed to dance, one of which dances competitively... so we are in need of supplies that will last and are provided by knowledgeable staff. There are few options for dancewear in the Plano/Frisco/Allen area, which is unfortunate. On the bright side, I must say that they do seem VERY informed on how to fit dance shoes and have a very good selection of shoes and dancewear. After the ""rolling eyes"" visit, I very much wanted to give up on ever going back to Sandy's for my dancewear. I decided to give it another go and was surprised that their attitude and approach to children seemed to have improved somewhat. Our experiences there since have been positive and a few staff have been more helpful than ever. With the lack of competition, Sandy's probably doesn't have to worry about losing a few customers here and there... as I've heard similar ""poor customer service"" stories from friends and fellow dance moms. I'm hoping that things have changed for real and they have a better attitude toward children and customer service. I have heard VERY positive things about Spotlight in Lewisville, however that's pretty far from us if we are needing something quickly for a competition, etc. Hope this helps!
