Best

Whoa..these are some negative reviews...and they make an impact. I recently move to Dallas and signed up for a tap class (for seniors) at Brookhaven College. Didn't have tap shoe...

Worst

Out of sheer lack of options, I have visited Sandy's many a time for my daughters' dance supplies. I agree with the previous review, that they can be very rude and disrespectful....

Highly recommend\r \r I've been shopping at Sandy's for 2 years\r \r 1. They are friendly and professional\r 2. They ask the right questions to help you find what you need\r \r 3. The staff is very knowledgeable about Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Drill team, modern dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, hip hop etc...\r \r They are subject matter experts on the type of dance & gear you will need. They are also well informed about dancewear each of the dance studios in the DFW area require.\r \r I highly recommend Sandy's more

Todd was very rude to my 3 years old son who dropped a piece of leotard on the floor. What kind of man would yell at 3 years old kids!!!! This is not how you do business!!!! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/10/2012

Very rude - unwelcome environment. Don't take this as a negative comment. If it is your business take it as a constructive criticism. While waiting to pay by the register, I was invisible to the the two employees behind the counter, that went on talking bad about a customer that left before me. Very rude people. Will never be back to this store again. more

GREAT shopping experience 1/20/2012

Whoa..these are some negative reviews...and they make an impact. I recently move to Dallas and signed up for a tap class (for seniors) at Brookhaven College. Didn't have tap shoes and several members of the class mentioned Sandy's. I went on computer to get the address and found these comments about all the rude salespeople. Decided I didn't want to go through that so would avoid the place. . I then tried to find "" Jay's Dancewear "" as I read the nice comments concerning it. I couldn't get phone answer to Jay's so that should have been a clue, but I went looking for it anyway. Went to the Spring Creek Shopping Center...no Jay's there. Was directed to a street address...but it was obviously residential. After 45 minutes of searching I thought ""Oh heck..I'll go to that rude place in Plano."" Easily found it...walked in. I was immediately greeted pleasantly and the woman was so helpful. I got exactly what I wanted...tried on a couple of pairs and know they'll be comfortable. As I was checking out I mentioned the ""bad press"" I'd seen here and the woman said the owner was aware of them, but didn't know what to do. I then mentioned my first attempt to go to Jay's, but hadn't been able to locate it. Turns out that the woman who was helping me was the former OWNER of Jay's (for over 30 yrs.) . What a coincidence! Anyway..the point I'm trying to make is that this place is FRIENDLY and whatever caused all those negative remarks was not in evidence when I went there. I had a thoroughly enjoyable shopping experience here! more

This is the first review I've ever written online. I have been a Sandy's customer for several years. I have NEVER been in there that I wasn?t treated rudely by someone. Today was IT! I will NEVER EVER shop there again! We were there buying our competition shoes. The clerk who sized my kids did NOTHING more than what you'd get at Kohls shoe dept. She simply walked back and forth from the back with diff. sizes. She actually did not even know what the strap inside of the shoe was supposed to do. She was NOT helpful in sizing them appropriately! She tried to size one girl in a WIDE shoe that is regularly a NN. When I realized it she told us that they were out of the M width and that it did not come in a N. As it turned out they were out of stock for both of my girls sizes. I (not her) suggested calling the other store to see if they were in stock but they only had 1 not both. Since I have to have these shoes quickly I stated that I'd just order them from the Sandy's website. I overhear more

I wish I could give less than one star for this place! RUDE! Took my four year old for her first pair of ballet shoes. I was told to write my name on the list and wait. Wait for what??? There was no one in the store other than me! We waited for 15 minutes and then finally someone brought some shoes out. My daughter kept complaining that the ballet shoes hurt her feet but the sales lady refused to get a wider shoe for her saying that's how they are supposed to fit. We can't even squeeze her foot into her shoes without tights! And they make deep red marks around her foot. I've been back a couple of times to purchase tights. The people in this store are unhelpful, rude and obviously hate children. I can't figure out why they are still in business.\r We needed tap shoes this year and I purchased them in Oklahoma City during a summer visit so I wouldn't have to go into Sandy's for a fitting again. I've recently found a wonderful little dance store in Mckinne more

Rude 5/8/2010

I live in a small town in Montana and needed to get dance shoes and gymnastics leos for my child. I called around to diffrent places so that my mother (who lives in Richardson) could pick them up for me. When I called the lady who was on the phone was rude, annoyed and unhelpful. I called Jay's Dancewear in Richardson and they put all of the items I needed aside for my mother to pick up. The people at Sandy's lost a sale today and future sales because they were rude. If there was a local dance shop I would buy the items locally. more

Disappointed 9/11/2009

I went in to Sandy's to purchase my daughters second pair of ballet shoes. My daughter is very young and this is her second year in dance, so I am still very new at this and can say that I don't know much about brands. I must say that the two ladies that helped us took the fun out of shopping for ballet, jazz and tap shoes. I had so many questions, and this seemed to bother the first woman when I asked her the difference in tights. The woman that helped with the shoes was even worse. She sighed heavily when she asked me a question, and I told her I was not too sure what she meant. Our first experience was vastly different at a store in Mckinney They had made the experience a wonderful and exciting one, interacting with my daughter and seemingly acting just as excited as she was . I went to Sandy's just to try out a different store. At Sandy's I felt as we were bothering them. They never once smiled and when I asked a question, they would just ask me the studio she was coming from. more

Very Rude 6/8/2009

I have been there a couple of times because it's on my way to somewhere but I'm disappointed every time. There's an older lady there that's very rude. I'm not going back. Pros: Location is convenient Cons: No costumer service more

Nothing but great experiences with Sandy's! 12/4/2008

I'm sorry to hear other people have had problems at Sandy's Too. I have had nothing but great experiences there and at the main store in Dallas on Gus Thomasson. This store really knows how to fit shoes! Their prices are very reasonable (especially compared to some other stores in North Dallas) and they are great at accommodating special orders. Our dance team is now using them for shoes & tights and they even came out to our school to fit all the girls. more

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. . . . . 10/9/2008

HORRIBLE. They are very rude here. I took my 3yr old niece here and they were not accomodating at all. One employee was openly rude/disappointed when I let him know that I would not being buying something because it didn't fit. Not only are they overpriced but also rude. REALLY? This stuff isn't cheap and then the customer service has also gone out the window. I'd be glad to spend any amount if I'm being treated right. Don't waste your time and money here. more

Sandy's Dancewear Too in Plano Texas 8/23/2008

Absolutely THE rudest people in Plano. I will never purchase anything from this store again. This is a message to all the moms looking for dancewear for their children....do not waste your time or money in this store. You will be greatly disappointed, if not outright offended by poor and unacceptable customer service. I have asked several dance studios where I can purchase dancewear in Plano...when I mention Sandy's Dancewear Too, they have all unanimously suggested I NOT shop there. I will drive to Dallas in the future for my dance supplies. That's how bad it is. more

Pros and cons for this store... 8/22/2008

Out of sheer lack of options, I have visited Sandy's many a time for my daughters' dance supplies. I agree with the previous review, that they can be very rude and disrespectful. On one occasion, my younger child was in need of ballet AND jazz shoes for dance. She is very sensitive to how things feel on her feet and was having a tough time choosing which felt best. I witnessed staff rolling their eyes at each other and muttering remarks under their breath in regards to my child, which was VERY hurtful to me. She was in no way intentionally trying to be difficult for their staff. On more than one occasion, I've felt as if I'm inconveniencing their staff by my presence in their store... and it IS retail for goodness sake. Both of my daughters are very committed to dance, one of which dances competitively... so we are in need of supplies that will last and are provided by knowledgeable staff. There are few options for dancewear in the Plano/Frisco/Allen area, which is unfortunate. On the bright side, I must say that they do seem VERY informed on how to fit dance shoes and have a very good selection of shoes and dancewear. After the ""rolling eyes"" visit, I very much wanted to give up on ever going back to Sandy's for my dancewear. I decided to give it another go and was surprised that their attitude and approach to children seemed to have improved somewhat. Our experiences there since have been positive and a few staff have been more helpful than ever. With the lack of competition, Sandy's probably doesn't have to worry about losing a few customers here and there... as I've heard similar ""poor customer service"" stories from friends and fellow dance moms. I'm hoping that things have changed for real and they have a better attitude toward children and customer service. I have heard VERY positive things about Spotlight in Lewisville, however that's pretty far from us if we are needing something quickly for a competition, etc. Hope this helps! more

Ruined a memorable experience for me and my daughter! 6/7/2008

You would think taking your daughter to buy her first tap shoes and ballet shoes would be a nice memory for a mother and daughter to share. But taking her to Sandy's was my mistake! Don't make the same. For someone who is in the business of fitting children for dance shoes and leotards, you would think the owner would hire emplyees who LIKE children. The employees at this location are RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and absolutely MISIRABLE! I met two other girl friends to get our daughters fitted and together easily dropped $400 on shoes and dancewear. I watched in disbelief as my two friends were fitted first. I could not believe how they were treated. Then it was my turn and the rudeness continued. On the way out the door, one employee actually said ""My head is killing me from all these bratty kids!"" I will NEVER spend another dime on this store and I will make sure EVERY mother I talk to at dance classes never go through what we did. I know people have bad days but this was ""unforgettable"" for the wrong reasons. more
