Review content:
We have been to the Sudbury Fugakyu many times. The sushi is always very good, however, we always find that the rolls are small for the money they charge and thus we are always dissappointed (for this reason, we rarely go here anymore, but go to Oishi down the street. Oishi has been closed for rennovations hence we ended up at Fugakyu last week-end). We often order a number the of specialty rolls, rolls they charge $9-15 for, and find that the same or similar rolls at Oishi are noticeably larger, and sometimes less expensive as well. Our friends that came to Fugakyu with us for their first time also agreed. We did get some nigiri and found those slices to be quite generous. But the rolls, which we primarily order, always disappoint, which is a pity because they are otherwise very good and they have such a varied selection. The service here is always very nice as well. One thing they do have over Oishi is size - plenty of tables; we are almost always seated immediately. Overall, I do think Fugakyu is a great restaurant but nonetheless we will always prefer Oishi as we get much more b ang for our buck there, for sushi that is just as good, if not better, than Fugakyu.
Pros: Service, good food/sushi, plenty of seating
Cons: Sushi rolls are small for the prices they charge
