Review content:
Honesty, the best kept secret in Charlotte and I hope it stays that way. Being selfish of course, the atmosphere is fantastic. Last Friday night I stumbled upon a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere that displayed a motif of deep purples, cushy posh banquettes for lounging and the sounds of adult contemporary tunes by Marthas Trouble in the back ground. And then I tasted the wine and can I just say superb. For all those other wine snubs out there like me and you want a wine you cannot find anyone else by the bottle or glass this is your place. And for all the beginners the wine menu is set up by a copyrighted Taste Classification guide that helps you navigate until you find the wine that best fits your palate. Genius! They also feature a Wine Retail Seller that you can take a bottle home with you when you leave. Genius Again! They also have a food menu that showcases small-plate gourmet fare that does an excellent job complimenting their wine. I had the Crabcakes paired with their Pennautier Viognier, New Zealand Lamb Chops paired with their Zolo Malbec, and their Le Chocolat for dessert with a glass of Coppo Brachetto that was just to die for. If you are coming to experience a full scale restaurant then you have come to the wrong place. They are a wine bar, make no mistake, but honestly, its my new Cheers! They are located at the new Northlake Mall (Exit 18 off of 77N) on the back side between Belk and the AMC theater hiding in the back which I am sure serves as a double edge sword. Their exposure is limited except for the big purple awning that you can not miss, but it also creates a nice romantic setting that allows a certain level of privacy that in my opinion is a must.
