Review content:
We went to this place because we really like Morrocan food. We went on Friday, 6.22.2007 and everything about it is wrong. You walk in and the garish decor reminds you of Vinny's brick oven pizza. The place was crawling with teenagers who were there for the Hooka pipe and the BYO. I guess since they did not buy the beer at the restaurant, the place had no problem with kids in there drinking. That was not so bad (the place was empty when we walked in so we did not know any better). What was worse was the food and service. the first course was the salad and hummus, which tasted like store bought hummus with cumin sprinkled on top. second course, pretty typical, was bastilla. The top was nicely decorated but it was just ground meat )which really is not Bastilla) and it was very greasy. we did not finish that either. the third course was morrocan chicken. the sauce was actually pretty good, and the chicken was moist. but not good enough for me to say, let's go back. The next course was couscous with carmelized onion. Not really good and again, we could not finish it. The couscous was overcooked and not well seasoned. the kabob came out next, and that was terrible. It was (i know because this is how I make hamburger so I knew the taste and texture well) a chuck that was cubed and put through the food processor (that is how I make my own chopped meat as well) that had no other flavoring but was cooked on a grill and had cumin sprinkled on it. The dessert was baklavah and mint tea. The baklavah was about the size of a quarter (no exagerration) and was soggy. the mint tea again, was good but not enough for me to want to go back.
Pros: Quick Seating
Cons: Bad Food, loud drunk teenagers, poor service, lousy ambience
