My family and I had originially scheduled Greater Austin Moving to do our move because they were recommended by our neighbor. Horrible mistake!! We had to be out of our house on a Sunday (because the new owners were moving in that Monday) so they were supposed to move our things the Friday before. ""Greater Austin"" showed up in a U-Haul rental truck. Apparently, the owner of Greater Austin had contracted some random movers to move our precious belongings. So after they eyed our inventory, the ""leader"" walked out to make a phone call. After about 20 minutes he came back inside the house and said, ""We can't do this. We're not getting paid enough."" Frantic--because we had a ton of stuff that had to be out that weekend, I asked him how much how wanted us to pay for them to stay and do the job. As he was walking out my door he said, ""Sorry, we're not doing it."" I was 7 months pregnant with a toddler by my side and these guys walked out on me. I called Scott, the owner of Greater Austin to ask what just happened. He NEVER answered the phone. I continued to call and leave messages 5 more times. I never heard from him--TO THIS DAY. No apology, explanation or any attempt to return my call.
Pros: Prompt, careful, great staff
