If you have the opportunity, take any other provider you can. I've heard great things about AT&T U-verse, try out DSL... hell, try satellite Internet before you get in bed with Charter Communications. Let me count the reasons you need to avoid them: 1) inept customer service. They actually gave me the login credentials for someone else's account once. I could see this other person's name, billing info, etc. I shudder to think what they're doing with my private information. 2) late techs. I've taken off work twice for installations by Charter techs. On both occasions the tech didn't show up on time, and on one of those two occasions, he showed up three hours later taking another hour to fix the issue. I had to stay home all day that day. 3) my Internet goes down all the time. I'm practically on a first name basis with the customer reps at this point. Heed my advice - look elsewhere. Pros: they are the only provider in my neighborhood (read: none) Cons: customer service, late technicians, inconsistent delivery
