Review content:
I went here as it was recently voted the best bookstore in Worcester County. I will say the non-kid sections seemed very attractive and quiet and the man at the cafe and the cashier were super nice. BUT on the whole the staff people were openly disgusted by my kids even though I cleaned up what they took down and did not let them look at anything other than the cheapest plainest board books (I know its a store not a library but I do like the kids to look at a book before I buy it to see how much it interests them - in the end I gave up on buying any books because I was so stressed out by the staff!!). One youngish woman sighed and rolled her eyes at me when the kids picked up a toy and another staff member refused to speak to or even smile at my 3 year old son when my son approached him. I don't even feel bad about writing this review as they are so open that they dont want you to bring your kids - there is a nasty sign up stating that you will have to pay for anything your child breaks, which is understandable but I have seen much more appropriate ways to express that point in other stores - I am sure their kids' section has been used and abused but their reaction has brought them to the point of bad customer service. Also, on a practical note,a large sea of fragile collectibles lies between the front door and the children's section or the Cafe so it is hard to manage with kids. I am pretty sure I will not be back with or without the kids.
