I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw this place, you just don't expect to see a place like this outside of the New Orleans area. Ever since then I have come here at least once a month, sometimes more often, to get my beignet fix. The beignets here are just great, even better than some places in New Orleans. They are a little bigger than Cafe du Monde's and can be ordered in sets of 3 and 12, or individually. Unlike Cafe du Monde, the beignets here are always fresh and made to order and there are other desserts also available for order. As for the rest of the menu, they offer a host of New Orleans favorites.. however most people will probably overlook these right away, as everyone has a sweet tooth. In terms of service, this place is generally pretty friendly; though at times it is also hit and miss(usually when the place is packed, which is understandable), but never a bad experience. If they ever run out of beignets, they will tell you when more will be ready, which is usually no more than 20 minutes. The people who run this place are from the New Orleans area and you can tell that they put a lot of love and pride into their work. Overall, I really enjoy coming here and would recommend this place especially for it's beignets. It's good to see a beloved New Orleans tradition being so well embraced in Houston.
