Review content:
This family-owned pizza shop is only open on evenings Tuesday - Saturday, but it is worth a special trip. No seating - only to go - but as kids we used to enjoy it on some of the steps of adjoining properties. Homemade sauce and dough and only the best ingredients. Sauce goes over the cheese so you don't burn the cheese (why ruin good cheese). Also, most toppings go on after cooking and the pepperoni is the best. Why cook the pepperoni to runny, greasy reminants of a great topping, anyway. I usually get it with x-tra cheese - just melted on top a bit afterward to preserve the fine cheese taste - and pepperoni. Pizza this good for such a terrific price, makes Frank's number one in the Pittsburgh area, and the best I've tasted outside a couple of spots in NYC. This family has been making their home made pizza for over 50 years, and it is still as good as I remember way back then.
