I used to be an equal opportunity cake eater. I love desserts. But after trying the cakes at Blackmarket Bakery, I've become a complete cake snob. Cheap mix cakes and shortening ""buttercreams"" now taste awful and make me feel sick. The Blackmarket cakes are so rich, and have such a pure flavor, you don't need to eat a lot to feel satisfied. I've never been a big frosting fan until I tried theirs. It is buttery and smooth and delicious. And their cake is not too sweet, just really really good. Their breads are great too -- the croissants have a ton of chocolate, the scones are the best, and the brioche is magnificent.
Pros: Great products!
Cons: No place to sit, purely take-out.
