Review content:
While service (as usual) is spectacular, from the hostess, to the waitstaff (who is attentive, but not hovering) we move to soups and salads. I had the porcini and parsnip soup, and it was divine. The texture was silky and smooth, the color was autumn at its peak, while the aroma was deep and rich. Temperature was spot on! It's everything you could hope for in a soup. Salad was fresh, proportionate, and visually appealing. I had the potato gnocchi, and while it was presented very nicely; the first bite proved to be an oversalted mess. The gnocchi itself was flavorful and the texture was firm. Very nice! But the sauce was salt... I wanted to enjoy it. I tried to enjoy it. I simply didn't have the stomach for it. I ate about half and resolved to write a review. Had it been tasted before served, I believe the 'gravy' (truffle shallot sauce) would have been tossed out. When I return (and I surely will) I will asked that my gnocchi be tasted before I order it. I can't give up on Gravy after one less than splendid meal.
Pros: Porcini and parsnip soup is STELLAR!
Cons: Gnocchi was the dead sea
