I've been to this restaurant since it;s new owners took over and had a decent experience, like the new decor, but it;s missing the personal touch that its original owners provided, and had resolved to find where the original owners went. Through the grapevine, we had heard he was in the Villages, and so this weekend we undertook to seek out the new restaurant. We did indeed find it; it;s called SIAM ORCHID in LADY LAKE at 1561 Bella Cruz Drive, the Villages, Florida 32159. They are open 7 days a week, and right next to the Denny's on 441/27 just a bit up from the walking bridge on 441 in the Villages. We had a great experience, same food, same great owners, same attentive service. The new location is a converted chain place, quite a bit larger, but still the same sense of a family owned business. It has a large open kitchen, and the feeling is intimate, but bright and open. We loved it. From Orlando, you can take OBT (441) all the way to his door - about 55 minutes, I think. Well worth our effort, and we will be back. The place was packed on a Saturday night, and they are in their busy season. Tons of snowbirds in town. I had the green curry beef and my partner had hot basil chicken. Pros: Upscale decor, decent food, decent service Cons: just not like it used to be...missing the personal touch and the recipes o fthe original owners
