Review content:
First... Let me qualify this review by saying that I have been a regular lunch and dinner patron at Thai Place for over 6 years. I travel to Winter Park regularly on business, and always made it a habit to eat there at least once when I was in town (sometimes many times...). I was disappointed to hear that the management had changed, but figured, after not having been in there for close to 8 months that I'd give it a shot. Service... Nominally attentive... Nothing like it was... The new decor is semi-industrial... Interesting, but not really ""traditional"". The food... Absolutely noxious. I ordered Tofu Pad Thai, figuring that this was probably the least risky thing to try under the new management. When I finally managed to get past the scent of what was, apparently, BBQ sauce (yep... That's what it smelled, and tasted, like), I was startled to find that the tofu had been sitting for some time, and was, in fact cold, in stark contrast to the rest of the dish which was SUPER hot (yep... I suspect that the plate spent some time in the microwave...) The noodles were broken, and the portion (given the increased price) was fairly small. I tried hard to finish the meal (I was starving, having just come from the airport), and then promptly ran away. I'm disappointed at the death of what was a WONDERFUL Thai restaurant. I can't count the number of people that I've managed to drag in there over the years. A true disappointment...
Pros: Ummmm... It's close to the Florida DMV?
Cons: Avoid avoid avoid...
