Review content:
I was born and raised in White Oak and used to dine at Twin Oaks in the 70's when the original owners ran the place. Great people. Their son took over in the 80's and his way of handling things are different. His attitude and lack of customer service training of his staff leave a lot less to be desired and my husband and I found ourselves stopping by a lot less often.
As of this past Thursday, we will no longer be dining at this restaurant due to his inappropriate interactions with customers. As my husband and I were dining, a group of women came in to the dining room and they didn't even have the opportunity to sit down and the owner came barreling into the room in a rage. He was waving a paper at them asking for a certain individual...and none of them knew who he was talking about. They tried to calm him down and ask him what was going on...and they were clearly caught off guard and had no idea what was going on. He asked them never to return for something that he refused to explain. The one woman declared that they were regulars for almost 2 years...that they brought them alot of business. His response was 'I don't care and don't need your business'. They were shocked and embarrassed...as anyone would be and left quietly.
His arrogance, ignorance, and the manner in which he handled himself were completely out of line. He would not even talk to these ladies and it was evident he had the wrong group.
It is a shame to see a local business owner act in this manner, especially turning away regulars without explanation, catching them off guard like that. Unfortunately for him, as a local business owner, he needs to rely on locals to keep them in operation and that will come to a crashing halt if he continues on this path.
To the owner of Twin Oaks, you need to calm down and talk to your customers. You need to realize that you are only hurting your business...not helping it. Especially when you treat people the way you do.
We will not be returning to Twin Oaks and have already begun to spread the word...although the folks we have talked too already knew of this and have stopped coming around as often as well because of the poor treatment.
Good food means nothing with a rotten attitude. You can take that to the bank!
Pros: Good Food
Cons: Terrible Customer Service
