I've never had a bad meal or service here. Food is great and reasonable. Service attentive and friendly. Hosted a birthday party in their side room and everyone raved over the food and service. They are wonderful to deal with. Maybe the other reviewers have a bone to pick with someone, as these other reviews are completely off base from our experience for the last 20 years! more

Bad Management 6/26/2010

I was born and raised in White Oak and used to dine at Twin Oaks in the 70's when the original owners ran the place. Great people. Their son took over in the 80's and his way of handling things are different. His attitude and lack of customer service training of his staff leave a lot less to be desired and my husband and I found ourselves stopping by a lot less often. As of this past Thursday, we will no longer be dining at this restaurant due to his inappropriate interactions with customers. As my husband and I were dining, a group of women came in to the dining room and they didn't even have the opportunity to sit down and the owner came barreling into the room in a rage. He was waving a paper at them asking for a certain individual...and none of them knew who he was talking about. They tried to calm him down and ask him what was going on...and they were clearly caught off guard and had no idea what was going on. He asked them never to return for something that he refused to explain. The one woman declared that they were regulars for almost 2 years...that they brought them alot of business. His response was 'I don't care and don't need your business'. They were shocked and embarrassed...as anyone would be and left quietly. His arrogance, ignorance, and the manner in which he handled himself were completely out of line. He would not even talk to these ladies and it was evident he had the wrong group. It is a shame to see a local business owner act in this manner, especially turning away regulars without explanation, catching them off guard like that. Unfortunately for him, as a local business owner, he needs to rely on locals to keep them in operation and that will come to a crashing halt if he continues on this path. To the owner of Twin Oaks, you need to calm down and talk to your customers. You need to realize that you are only hurting your business...not helping it. Especially when you treat people the way you do. We will not be returning to Twin Oaks and have already begun to spread the word...although the folks we have talked too already knew of this and have stopped coming around as often as well because of the poor treatment. Good food means nothing with a rotten attitude. You can take that to the bank! Pros: Good Food Cons: Terrible Customer Service more

Terrible Customer Service 7/2/2009

a group of us attend wing night every thursday night. One night in particular, there were 9 of us...all but 2 got our wings...so we shared. We didn't speak up until almost 45 minutes later...and the bartender/manager was ok... after we got our wings...everyone else had finished and was gabbing. we asked for refills on our fresh brewed tea (which you are allowed 1 refill)...the new server didn't know about it and said we didn't get one...and we politely stated that we get one with the fresh tea only. moments later, a gentleman server came barging in the room screaming at us...causing the room to go silent and everyone in the room to stare! He wasn't even our server! Upset 2 members of our party go in the bar to speak with the manager...when trying to explain who they were talking about, the one said the guy server...you know, the gay one...not meaning any harm... While they were talking in the bar to the manager, the male server proceeds to go to another table in the same room and talk about our table loud enough for us and the entire room to hear! He then proceeds to barge in the bar...screaming and pointing his fingers in the faces of the members of our party...telling them to go 'F===' themselves...and one of the women rightfully shouted it right back to him. When the manager was informed of his actions...we all went into the back room, where he blatantly denied everything! The owner and main manager were promptly contacted the next day...the owner has yet to talk with us...and the server is still working there! Pros: Good food, good prices Cons: Terrible attitudes, obscene behavior of servers! more
