So we were visiting Miami from NYC in March, Our plans were to go on a 3 day cruise! We got into town a few days early so we could be tourists and look around! My wife and I really enjoy India food especially since New York is full of Indian restaurants. We tried Guru and Ishq on the beach and I'll tell you one thing.. they don't know how to cook REAL Indian food at all! It was pretty bad! Then we tried Mint Leaf since the cab driver could not find House of India and we were once again disappointed with the food quality and service! It was worse then the first two! At this point we were so fed up with bad Indian food that we just decided to go to Denny's on Monday, our last day before the cruise and what do ya know... We found House of India restaurant right next door and decided to give a whirl! So we go in and were promptly greeted by a nice hostess! Then the nice gentlemen took our order and assured us that the food would taste good and we let him know that we have been told that before and were disappointed 3 times! So the food comes out and For Sure the food was amazing and so tasty! I thought to myself ? Wow this is really good Indian food!? I can honestly say that House of India surpasses any Indian restaurant I have tried in New York hands down! We asked to speak to the chef and out comes this very young guy who was cooking that Monday! We gave him our compliments and let him know that he knows how to cook! I was kicking myself in the butt throughout the whole cruise for not finding House of India earlier because we wasted a lot of money on horrible food at those other restaurants for the first two days! And let me just tell you the Mango Lassi they serve is the best lassi I have ever tasted I my life! It was so Good! We will definitely be coming here again next time we are in town! 5 Stars! Pros: Great Authentic Indian Cuisine Cons: Hours of operation.. they close early
