Review content:
I've dined at Vincent on at least 5 occasions in the past 2 years for personal and business dining experiences and I've been delighted. It saddens me to report that we dined there last night (10/21/05) and we were extremely dissapointed. We encounted an unfriendly hostess (no greetings before or after dinner, no coat check) and over-cooked, unremarkable food. My grouper was a dissapointment as was my husband's choice, the pork filet- both overcooked and nothing special. An order of fried chickpeas proved to be actually inedible (saltless, pasty starch sticks?). On the bright side, the bread, squash soup, wine and desserts were excellent. However, for the cost of the experience ($180 for 2, including wine) I expect someone to hang up my coat AND present me with an outstanding entree. Maybe Vincent took the night off? Sadly, we will not return and are crossing Vincent off our 'favorites' list.
Pros: wine list, desserts, location
Cons: unfriendly hostess, porrly cooked entree
