Review content:
I bought a puppy from Pete's Petland on 1/6/07. The puppy was constantly sick from the time we got it, he was in the vet more than we had him. At four months old, I had a labrador retriever which should have weighed approximately 40 pounds, but my dog was so sick he only weighed 14 pounds. Finally since the puppy kept relapsing and not getting better the vet decided to do exploratory surgery. Once they opened him up the found out that the puppy's stomach was deformed and his lungs were completely diseased. They determined that the puppy would never get better and at 4 months of age the puppy had to be put to sleep. I did end up getting my money back for the dog from the pet store, but only after putting up with the same rudeness I had dealt with since I notified them that the puppy was sick. How can you be rude to someone who's puppy (that you sold them) just died?? Even though I was reimbursed for the dog itself I am still out all of the vet bills, which are substantial. Since then I bought a new puppy from a reputable breeder, a HEALTHY puppy!!! Clearly, I should have just gone to a reputable breeder in the first place, but I learned the hard way and I will never buy an animal from a pet store again!!
Cons: sick dogs
